The Turkish Foundation System from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic

The panel, "The Turkish Foundation System from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic," organized by the Ali Fuad Başgil Law Society, one of our faculty's student groups, was held in the Faculty of Law conference hall on October 9, 2025. Participants in the panel included Mr. Mevlüt Çam, Member of the Foundations Council of the General Directorate of Foundations; Mr. Murat Uslu, Erzurum Regional Director; Mr. Fahri Demir, Deputy Regional Director of the Samsun Regional Director; and Mr. Dr. Necati Bayramoğlu, Faculty of Law, Department of Civil Law, Faculty Member. Opening remarks were delivered by Prof. Dr. Hasan Tahsin Keçeligil, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Mr. Eyüp Ensar Erim, President of the Ali Fuad Başgil Law Society; and Dr. Betül Kayar, academic advisor to the student group and faculty member of the Department of Legal History. During the panel, the participants provided comprehensive information about the history, practice, and legislation surrounding foundations. The panel concluded after students posed questions to the speakers. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the speakers, and refreshments provided by the Çarşamba Municipality were served to all participants after the panel. We thank all participants, faculty members, students, and all guests for their participation in this highly productive panel.
